The fire that broke out on Yamanlar Mountain in Karşıyaka district of Izmir on Thursday evening spread gradually due to the effect of the wind and spread to residential areas. While the authorities evacuated many people, some buildings burned and became unusable. There were no injuries or deaths in the incident.
Minister Yumaklı, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, said this morning that the flames were taken under control and the residential areas were safe again.
