Forest fires that started in the Panhandle region of the northern part of the US state of Texas on Monday continue despite the interventions. It was announced that the fires, which continued at 5 different points, have killed 1 person, an 83-year-old woman living in the city of Stinnett, and turned 1 million acres of land into ashes.
The Smokehouse Creek fire in Oklahoma, the largest of the fires, turned 850 thousand acres of land into ashes. The fire has been the second-largest in the state’s history.
