Forest fires that were brought under control yesterday started again in some regions yesterday evening in South Korea.
Smoke started rising in the rural area of Andong City in North Gyeongsang Province at around 22:00 local time and the fire was intensifying again in the morning, said officials. It was also stated that the fires in the Euiseong region south of Andong had also started again and that many firefighting teams were dispatched to the region.
The Korean Forestry Service (KFS) announced yesterday that the fires in North Gyeongsang Province were completely under control as of 17:00 local time, while the fires in South Gyeongsang Province were extinguished by 93 percent.
