Petro Poroshenko, Ukraine’s former president, has returned home. Poroshenko who had been abroad for some time, and had been detained on charges of “treason” and “aiding terrorists”. Former president appeared in court as soon as he returned to Kiev, Ukraine’s capital and fell asleep during the hearing. The Pecherska Court requested Poroshenko’s detention on the grounds that he had ties to separatists in the Donbass Region and provided them with financial support. “I am abroad and will not come before January,” Poroshenko, who was summoned for questioning in December last year, said in a statement.

Ukraine State Investigation Bureau, on the other hand, claimed that Poroshenko learned that a detention order was being prepared for him and that he fled abroad for this.
