Four Injured After Slingshot Ride Snaps in Spain

Four people were injured at an annual fair in Seville, Spain, when a cable on the “Steel Max” giant slingshot ride suddenly snapped. The terrifying malfunction caused the two-person capsule to collide with a structural pole and become suspended high in the air. Emergency responders quickly secured the area to safely rescue two children trapped inside the ride, as well as two bystanders injured on the ground. Fortunately, all four victims are reported to be in stable condition as local authorities launch a full investigation into the crash. The extreme attraction typically uses elastic cables to launch riders to heights exceeding 90 meters at speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour.
