Four Killed in Turkish Middle School Shooting

 

Four people, including a teacher, were killed and 20 others injured during a tragic shooting at a middle school in southern city of Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye. Authorities report that an eighth-grade student entered Ayser Çalık Middle School with a handgun—believed to belong to his former police officer father—and opened fire indiscriminately on students. Kahramanmaraş Governor Mükerrem Ünlüer confirmed that the young attacker died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound during the ensuing chaos. Emergency responders immediately secured the scene, recovering the weapon and seven magazines from the suspect’s backpack. The injured victims have been rushed to nearby hospitals for urgent medical care as local authorities launch a full investigation.
