A clash broke out between police and cartel members in the city of Tecpan de Galeana in the southern Mexican state of Guerrero at around 05:00 local time yesterday. The Mexican Defense Ministry reported that two police officers and 14 cartel members were killed and 4 police officers and 3 National Guard soldiers were injured during the clash. Eleven attackers were detained.
On Wednesday, 19 cartel members were killed in a clash between the cartel and the army in Culiacan, in the state of Sinaloa.
