France and Germany to Start Joint Tank Production Project

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu signed an agreement for the MGCS (Main Ground Combat System) program for the joint production of new generation battle tanks by 2040 at a ceremony in Paris. It was stated that the program, which was first announced in 2012, aims to replace the French Leclerc and German Leopard 2 tanks with a new generation tank model.
