Emphasizing the port’s vital role in allowing oil exports to bypass the Strait of Hormuz, Macron stated, “We will send soldiers, radars, and defense systems… not to get involved in any conflict, but to protect this facility.” The French leader also suggested that G7 nations might soon coordinate the release of strategic oil reserves to help stabilize rising global energy prices. Addressing concerns that US President Donald Trump could restrict American diesel exports, Macron warned that such a move would further inflate world markets.
