French police clash with protesters during May Day rallies, leading to 300 detentions

At least 291 people were arrested during a clash between police and demonstrators in France on May Day. Following the ongoing protests against the government’s pension reform, black-clad protestors, particularly in Paris, Nantes, and Lyon, attacked police with Molotov cocktails and fireworks. While some vehicles were set on fire, police used tear gas, water cannons, and batons to disperse the protesters.

According to the interior ministry, at least 108 police officers have been injured in conflicts with protestors angry at pension reforms across France.
