frenchman sets new world record for standing on hot-air balloon on sky

A French balloonist Remi Ouvrard set a new world record for standing on the top of a hot-air balloon at an altitude of more than 3,637 meters on the skies of Chatellarault, western France. His father Jean-Daniel Ouvrard controlled the balloon during the stunt. The altitude level corresponds to the phone number of the Telethon campaign, 37-47, an event to raise funds for research on a rare muscle and nerve disease (neuromuscular) every year. Reaching a maximum altitude of 4,016 meters, Ouvrard said, “I knew that we could get to 4,000 when we passed the 3,500 meters. We were in the heat of the moment”. He is already planning a new stunt for next year, “I told my father three days ago, I’ve got a plan for next year’s Telethon.” He said.
