Gabar Oil Field Boosts Türkiye’s Oil Production

Intensive oil production continues in Türkiye’s Gabar region, which now supplies 5% of the country’s oil needs. Currently, 47 wells in Gabar produce 47,058 barrels of crude oil per day. This marks significant progress compared to Türkiye’s oil production history, which began in 1955 with 95 wells. Today, Turkey produces a total of 110,000 barrels of oil per day, with Gabar playing a crucial role in meeting demand.

Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar highlighted Türkiye’s growing presence in global oil and gas exploration. He noted that Turkey’s daily production has more than doubled since 2016 and that the country is expanding exploration efforts in Iraq, Libya, and Somalia.
