Two gangs were caught in Spain defrauding over 70 families, mostly of Brazilian nationality, with the promise of making their children elite football players. The gang demanded an initial payment of 5,000 euros, followed by monthly payments of 1,700 euros from families, promising to cover expenses such as their children’s tuition fees, housing, and paperwork for residence permits in the city of Granada.
Eleven gang members were arrested as part of an investigation begun after a deceived person submitted a police complaint. The majority of those deceived were Brazilian nationals between the ages of 16 and 23.
