Gaziantep: 9th Best Gastronomy City Globally

 

Gaziantep, renowned for its rich culinary heritage, has secured the 9th position among the world’s best gastronomy cities, as recognized by the prestigious rating company TasteAtlas. UNESCO-registered for its gastronomy, Gaziantep showcases a diverse array of dishes, including kebabs, beyran, nesting, baklava, and katmer, boasting a total of 99 registered dishes. Celebrated chef Doğa Çitçi expressed pride in Gaziantep’s culinary achievement, highlighting its historical significance and cultural richness. With 104 geographically indicated products, Gaziantep surpasses European countries in culinary diversity. Çitçi emphasized the economic and cultural benefits of Gaziantep’s culinary recognition, fostering international interest and contributing to the country’s economy.
