Gendarmerie rescued 31 people stranded in snow in Turkey

A large number of people asked for help from the Gendarmerie after they stranded on the road in Palu and Karakoçan districts in Elazığ city of Turkey due to the heavy snowfall and the snow depth that exceeded 2 meters. Palu District Gendarmerie Command Kayaönü and Arındık Gendarmerie Station Command teams mobilized to rescue 6 vehicles and 31 people stranded on the road due to snow and blizzard. The Gendarmerie teams rescued 29 people in Kayaönü village just in time before they freeze, and were transferred them to a safe zone. Later on, teams went to a different region, and rescued 2 more people stranded on a road. Meanwhile, Gendarmerie teams towed the 6 vehicles back from where they stuck and gave them back to their owners.

On the other hand, an ambulance taking a patient to Bingöl city of Turkey, asked for help from the Gendarmerie after stuck on a snow covered road in the Karakoçan Kığı Highway. Despite the freezing cold and snowstorm, Gendarmerie teams rescued the patient and medical workers from the place where they were stranded.
