German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and her French counterpart Jean-Noel Barrot, who came to the Syrian capital Damascus to meet with the new Syrian administration, visited Sednaya Prison, which has become a symbol of the crimes committed by the Assad regime against the opposition, with Michael Unmacht, the President of the EU Delegation to Syria.
According to the White Helmets, who accompanied the European officials, Baerbock, Barrot and Unmacht expressed their solidarity with the prisoners, victims and missing persons and said they were determined to ensure justice for the victims and their families and that those who committed torture crimes should not go unpunished.
The visit was the first ministerial visit from the European Union (EU) to Syria.
