German Chancellor’s Departure Halted as Sirens Sound at Ben Gurion Airport

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s departure from Israel to Egypt was interrupted as sirens blared at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. He was evacuated from the plane, seeking shelter due to the sirens. Passengers on the aircraft also took safety measures by lying on the airport floor. The disruption was a response to Hamas launching rockets at Tel Aviv following Israel’s airstrike on Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza.
