German Police Resume Negotiation with Hamburg Airport Attacker

Efforts to convince the armed attacker who broke into the apron at the airport in Hamburg, Germany, with his car, opened two shots, and took his own 4-year-old daughter hostage under a plane have not concluded for 14 hours. The police stated that they are continuing the negotiation on the grounds that the attacker, who is identified as a 35-year-old Turkish citizen, might have weapons and explosives and that their priority is to protect the girl, who is in good health currently.

“We are continuing our interviews with the perpetrator together with our criminal psychologists. We are about to reach a solution. It’s a good sign that the attacker was in contact with emergency services for so long and wanted to talk,” police said.

On the other hand, it was reported that the person’s wife was brought to the airport.
