Giant Marlin Caught Off the Coast of Gökçeada by Skilled Turkish Fisherman

Ilker Özdemir, a Turkish fisherman in Gökçeada, Çanakkale, sailed to the sea yesterday with his 12-meter boat named “Red Apple” to catch swordfish. While he was spearfishing off Kaleköy, he caught the Marlin, which he thought was a swordfish. He struggled for nearly 40 minutes to bring the fish, which was around 2 meters long and weighed 50 kilograms, to the deck.

Furthermore, Marlin are usually found off the coasts of South America, but they were spotted for the first time in the Northern Aegean.
