The Popocatepetl Sky Bridge in Puebla, Mexico, sustained significant material damage yesterday after heavy rain and storm. The footage showed the bridge shaking like waves during the storm, causing the floor made out of glass fell from a height of 61 meters. Fortunately, no deaths or injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The Popocatepetl Sky Bridge, which opened in December of last year and cost $14.36 million, was closed for use following the damage and was taken for renovation. With a length of 148 meters and a weight of 15 tons, the bridge connecting two hotels in Puebla is Latin America’s longest glass bridge.
