‘Greater Hungary’ map on Viktor Orban’s scarf angers Ukriane and Romania

The scarf worn by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban showing the map of the former Hungarian Kingdom angered Romania and Ukraine. In a statement, Romania’s European Parliament (EP) deputy Alin Mituta said Viktor Orban acted irresponsibly, adding, “These revisionist gestures bring Orban closer to Putin, who dreams of changing borders.”

Oleg Nikolenko, spokesman for Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a statement, “Ukraine expects an apology for this incident and hopes that from now on the Hungarian side will avoid steps that can be considered disrespectful to our state’s territorial integrity.”
