The struggle with the fire in the Rhodope region of Greece has been going on for two days. The fire spread to the Turkish villages in Komotini and several houses became unusable. The locals were evacuated, and the fire near the settlements was brought under control. The extinguishment works are underway in the mountainous areas.

Eighteen people were found dead in Dadia National Park. Authorities said that the dead may have been immigrants who entered Greece illegally since there were no missing reports.
