Greek PM Mitsotakis Plans December Meeting with Türkiye’s Erdoğan

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis revealed plans to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Greece this December. Speaking at a panel organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Berlin, Mitsotakis highlighted recent efforts to ease tensions between Türkiye and Greece, emphasizing a desire to normalize relations and prevent potential military conflicts. He emphasized fostering a positive agenda to address long-standing differences.

Mitsotakis mentioned discussing bilateral relations and the ties between Türkiye and the European Union during the upcoming meeting. Despite disagreements, particularly regarding President Erdogan’s comments on Hamas, Mitsotakis affirmed the importance of dialogue and the need to explore common ground.

Additionally, the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the 5th High-Level Cooperation Council meeting between Greece and Türkiye, scheduled for December 7 in Athens, signifying a mutual agreement between the two nations.
