Some gunmen opened fire on a passenger bus in Chilas city, Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan province. After the attack, the passenger bus went out of control and collided with a truck, causing it to catch fire. Eight people died, and 26 others were injured. Authorities announced that two Pakistani soldiers died and a Special Protection Unit officer was injured in the attack, which was described as a terrorist attack. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
It was reported in the past that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has increased its terrorist activities, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, after the ceasefire with the Pakistani government ended last year.
