Gunshots were heard near a military camp and the presidential palace in Burkina Faso’s capital, Ouagadougou in the early hours of the morning. Local sources stated that soldiers were positioned on the main street on which the presidential palace was located. Entrances to administrative buildings were blocked and the state television was stopped streaming.
On January 24, a military coup took place in Burkina Faso, and President Roch Marc Christian Kabore was detained by the soldiers.
