Hamas Releases Israeli Soldier in Prisoner Swap

Hamas’ military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, released Israeli soldier Agam Berger to the Red Cross in northern Gaza as part of a prisoner swap under the ceasefire agreement that began on January 19. Berger was handed over in Jibaliya before being transported to Israel for medical evaluation.

As part of the exchange, Israeli civilians Arbel Yehoud and Gadi Mozes, along with five Thai citizens, are also set to be released. In return, Israel is expected to free 110 Palestinian prisoners in the coming hours.
