Hawaii Volcano Eruption Disables Monitoring Camera

Hawaii’s Kilauea Volcano, one of the world’s most active, has erupted for the 38th time since December 2024, shooting lava up to 30 meters high. Lava and ash reached one of the US Geological Survey’s monitoring cameras, disabling it.

Kilauea’s current activity began on December 23, 2024. Most eruptions last under a day, with pauses of several days. A major 2018 eruption destroyed more than 700 homes.
