Hawaii’s Kilauea Volcano Erupts

Hawaii’s Kilauea Volcano, one of the world’s most active, erupted early Tuesday, spewing lava up to 80 meters high and releasing volcanic gas and ash clouds. The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory confirmed the eruption occurred at 2:00 a.m. local time within a national park closed to the public since 2007, averting potential disasters.

Kilauea, which last erupted in June and September this year, previously caused significant destruction in 2018, with a three-month eruption that destroyed over 700 homes.
