Heartbreaking Scenes of Devastating Earthquakes in Türkiye

The unfinished lives of those who died in the earthquakes were heartbreaking in Türkiye. About 300 people who died in the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş, were buried in the İslahiye Asri cemetery in the Gaziantep district. The tombs, where six or seven members of one family were buried next to one another, demonstrated the earthquake’s devastation.

Some of the belongings of those who died in the earthquake were abandoned at their graves. While blankets covered some of the graves, personal belongings such as hats, scarves, and t-shirts were placed on the gravestones. In addition to placing pens and pencils on the graves of children whose schools were not completed, white veils were also tied to the gravestones of unmarried girls.
