heavy rain caused flooding in Japan and South Korea

Rainfall above seasonal norms, which has been in effect since last night in various parts of Japan, particularly in the provinces of Hokkaido and Aomori, has had a negative impact on life. Flooding occurred in some rural and urban areas of Hokkaido state, as well as on many farmlands. The rivers Nakamura and Iwaka in Aomori province overflowed. In the city of Hirosaki, an emergency safety alert was issued to 51,588 people living in 23,594 households.

On the other hand, at least 7 people were killed and 6 have gone missing after flooding hit South Koea’s capital Seoul. Around 400 were evacuated to safe areas, while 800 building were damaged by the floods. 80 highways were temporarily closed to traffic.
