Heavy rain caused severe floods and damage in southern parts of Croatia yesterday.
The historic city of Dubrovnik, where a child was slightly injured after falling into an open sewage pit, received an average monthly rainfall in just 2 hours. The drainage system failed to carry the large amount of water in a short time and a large part of the city was flooded.
Meanwhile, in the Dalmatia region, floods occurred on the roads around Split, Croatia’s second-largest city, and in the surrounding area. Traffic was heavy on almost all of the city’s main roads.
