Flooding and Landslides in Sri Lanka kills at least 6

Sri Lanka has been hit by heavy monsoon rains for a week, leading to severe flooding and landslides. At least six people have lost their lives in the disaster. The Galle region, south of Colombo, experienced a landslide, and several incidents of fallen trees and mudslides occurred in different areas. Among the casualties, five people died when a tree fell on a moving bus, and one person was killed when their house was struck by a rock during a landslide in Galle. Additionally, five individuals were injured when a tree fell on a bus. Floods and landslides have damaged hundreds of houses in 12 districts, with 1,473 families seeking shelter in temporary accommodations, and more than 50,000 people affected.
