Hezbollah supporters blocked the main road to Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut and set tires on fire after Lebanon denied landing permission for an Iranian Mahan Airlines plane. The flight, scheduled from Tehran, was canceled, leaving dozens of Lebanese passengers stranded.
The Lebanese army intervened to disperse the protesters, who carried Hezbollah flags and played the group’s anthem. The incident follows Israeli claims that Hezbollah and Iran’s Quds Force use Beirut’s airport for arms transfers. A similar controversy arose in January when an Iranian plane carrying a diplomatic delegation was inspected, sparking Hezbollah’s backlash.
