High Speed Train Network Sabotage Paralyzes Transportation in France

The High Speed Train (TGV) network of the National Company of the French Railways (SNCF) was sabotaged due to “malicious acts” and paralyzed transportation hours before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, said SNCF.

Fires broke out as a result of arson attacks near Courtalain in the Eure-et-Loir region, which caused serious disruptions on the railway line.

The organization estimates that the disruptions would affect 800,000 passengers and that traffic could be disrupted until next Monday.
