Aerial footage reveals that sections of the new Antalya-Konya highway remain underwater following 20 days of historic rainfall. Approximately four kilometers of the divided highway through the Gembos and Eynif plains are submerged under one to five meters of water. While the road has reopened up to the Başlar junction, the section toward Konya remains closed for safety.
To restore regional transit, the General Directorate of Highways has repaired and opened a 28-kilometer alternative route through the İbradı district. Drivers from Konya must now divert at the Gembos Plain onto the old İbradı road to bypass the flooded zones. Highway teams are continuing drainage operations and will conduct a full technical inspection of the main route once water levels recede.
