The historic Girls’ School in Merzifon, Amasya, built by Americans 160 years ago, is being converted into a library by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Restoration, based on old photographs, is nearing completion. The building, part of the former American College campus, will reopen as Merzifon District Public Library. Local officials recently inspected the progress, with completion expected this year.
