Historic Turkish Mansion Faces Demolition Amid Neglect

The Ahmet Tevfik Pasha Mansion, a historic 19th-century Ottoman-era building in Kars, is on the verge of collapse due to neglect. Despite its cultural significance and being a symbol of Kars, the mansion has been damaged by treasure hunters and left in disrepair. Citizens are expressing frustration that while a model of the mansion is showcased in the Cheese Museum, the original structure is deteriorating.

Locals are calling for urgent action from authorities, including Kars Governor Ziya Polat, to restore the building and preserve it for tourism and future generations. The mansion’s uncertain ownership and lack of preservation efforts have further fueled public outcry.
