Historical Buildings Illuminated in Central Türkiye

Sivas Historical City Square, which features significant works from the Seljuk, Ottoman, and Republic periods, remains partially illuminated by street lamps due to delays in a long-awaited lighting project. Initiated in 2017, the “Sivas City Square and Historical Buildings Lighting and Design Project” remains incomplete after seven years, leaving key historical structures in the dark. While some restored buildings, such as the Congress Museum and the Historical Gendarmerie Building, are fully illuminated, iconic landmarks like the Twin Minaret Madrasa and Kale Mosque await proper lighting. Citizens are eager for the project’s completion to highlight Sivas’ rich architectural heritage.
