A historical Roman bath has been discovered during foundation digging in Bolu’s Akpınar District in Türkiye, halting construction on a new apartment complex. The site, located in a protected area, revealed ancient ruins, including hot water channels made of fire-baked bricks and stones. The Bolu Museum Directorate is overseeing the careful excavation of the site.
Amateur historian Ufuk Ak confirmed the findings, noting that the site also includes remnants of a Roman theater, church, and stadium. Ak emphasized Bolu’s cultural significance, lamenting its underappreciation in cultural tourism. The uncovered artifacts will be preserved by the museum
