Hong Kong High-Rise Fire Death Toll Rises to 13

The death toll from a major fire in a 31-story residential tower in Hong Kong’s Tai Po district has climbed to 13, with 15 others injured. The blaze, which began in one building and spread to seven more, prompted authorities to raise the alert to the highest level, Level 5.

Firefighters are still battling the flames, which are spreading rapidly due to bamboo scaffolding on the skyscrapers. The Wang Fuk Court complex, where the fire broke out, houses around 4,000 residents across eight high-rise buildings.
