Hot Air Baloons fly for DMD Awareness Day in Cappadocia, Turkey

Due to World Duchenne Awareness Day, which has been observed every year on September 7 since 2014, hot air balloons in the Cappadocia, Turkey took off with banners that read “A world where Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) patients will be happy is possible with increased awareness”. Balloon pilot Memiş Kaan Altunsoy, who took off with a banner hung on a hot air balloon, said, “Today is the day of DMD Awareness Day. We are flying with our banners to raise awareness.”

DMD is an inherited and progressive disease that causes muscle weakness and destruction due to dystrophin protein deficiency.
