Hotel Occupancy Rate in Cappadocia Reaches 70 Percent before New Year’s Eve

Türkiye’s Cappadocia region, which is visited by numerous local and foreign nature lovers wanting to see its interesting rock formations, valleys, underground and aboveground formations, as well as fairy chimneys all year round, attracted many visitors during Christmas as well. While preparations for New Year’s Eve continue in the rock-carved entertainment facilities in the region, some hotels have reached their quota limits weeks in advance.

“We expect a busy season in the region starting from the third week of the month. The occupancy rates are currently at 65-70 percent. With last-minute reservations, occupancy rates will reach 100 percent, as spending New Year’s Eve in Cappadocia has become a ritual, especially in the domestic market. Last year, the Cappadocia region was completely full. We will reach the same occupancy rate this year,” said Teyfik Ölmez, President of the Cappadocia Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association.
