House-Arrested Jerusalem Governor Talks on Israeli Laws

Jerusalem Governor Adnan Ghaith, who took office in 2018 and was sentenced to house arrest by the Israeli administration a year ago, spoke about the laws Israel imposes on the Palestinians and the Israel-Palestine war.

“The occupation forces do not look for criminals; they only catch you if you are Palestinian. The Israeli government interprets and applies the laws in their own way. They alter the laws and implementation, but they do it only to our disadvantage because we demand our rights. I have never committed a crime. I was arrested while just doing my job,” said Ghaith.

“The world is undecided about Palestine. We want to live safely and respectfully on our land. We want our independence and our state. The capital, Jerusalem, is in responsibility of the whole world,” he said.
