House Explosion in US Virginia Prompts Police Response

A powerful explosion rocked a house in Arlington County, Virginia, near Washington, D.C., leaving the surrounding area shaken. Police responded to reports of repeated flares being fired from the house before the explosion occurred. According to Ashley Savage, a spokesperson for the Arlington County police, shots were fired from inside the house while they were attempting to secure a search warrant, followed by the explosion. The suspect was believed to be the sole person inside at the time. Firefighters battled the ensuing blaze for about 3 hours, managing to gain control, but any potential casualties remained unknown.
