Yemen’s Houthi rebels claim to have launched a series of drone and missile attacks against Saudi Arabia, targeting two major airports and two Aramco energy facilities. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree stated the strikes hit the Aramco sites with “precision” and caused significant disruptions, including the forced closure of Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport. Saree also noted that rebel forces successfully forced Saudi warplanes to retreat, declaring, “We fired on planes with domestically produced missiles.” He described the operations, which additionally struck what he called “Saudi military meetings” in southern Yemen, as direct retaliation for a recent wave of intense Saudi airstrikes.
