Farmers in Hungary and Poland closed Ukrainian border gates to traffic in order to protest the import of cheap agricultural and livestock products from Ukraine. Protesting the European Commission’s decision to exempt Ukrainian products from customs duty for another year, Hungarian farmers carried banners such as “Okay, let’s help Ukraine, but not by destroying EU agriculture.” As a result of the demonstrations of Polish farmers near the Hrebenne, Dorohusk and Medyka border gates on the Ukrainian border, traffic was seriously disrupted.
