Hungry birds landed on highways in Turkey

Due to heavy snowfall and cold weather, wild animals were adversely affected in Tokat city, Turkey. Birds landed on the highways in Tokat to find food, after starving due to the snowfall. Some of the birds died as a result of being hit by moving vehicles. Meanwhile, the Tokat Provincial Security Directorate Traffic Division teams that carrying out their duty in the area, didn’t remain indifferent to the scene they saw. Police officers ploughed the snow on the sidewalk with shovels they took from a house. Officers also left fodder on the snow-cleared pavement. Later on, the bird herds landed on the sidewalks and got their fill. Police officers urged drivers to slow down and honk when they see the bird herds.
