Hurricane Eunice kills many in Northwest Europe

Hurricane Eunice keeps sweeping through Northest Europe. One person was killed after a tree fell on his car due to strong winds reaching a speed of 196 kilometers per hour in London. Two others died after a flying debris fell on his vehicle in Liverpool and Hampshire. A person who was cleaning up the debris left by the storm in Ireland died under a fallen tree. Strong winds killed two people in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany.

The roof of the O2 Arena in London, England, was shattered. Pilots struggled to land the plane at many airports in England. Nearly 390 flights at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands were also canceled due to bad weather conditions. In Wales, more than 100,000 people were left without power as power poles and trees were toppled.
