Hurricane Fiona makes landfall in Puerto Rico

Hurricane Fiona, which made landfall at category 1 in Puerto Rico yesterday, caused flooding and landslides. Due to the hurricane, electricity was cut in a large part of the country, while water networks were disabled in many cities. In the city of Arecibo, located in the north of the country, 1 person died as a result of the explosion of a generator.

Hurricane Fiona is heading towards the Dominican Republic after Puerto Rico. The U.S. National Hurricane Center announced that Hurricane Fiona will increase its strength even further, reaching category 3 on Wednesday.
