Cuba plunges into darkness after Hurricane Ian

Hurricane Ian made landfall in Cuba’s Pinar del Rio province. The hurricane caused material damage, with strong winds reaching 205 kilometers per hour in the region and heavy rain, where 50,000 people were evacuated from their homes. The Cuban government declared a state of emergency in six states, including the capital Havana and Pinar del Rio, turned off the power to 850,000 people as a precaution, and built 55 shelters.

The hurricane nears the state of Florida, USA.
